Lighthouse was founded in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines in 1990 by American missionaries Chuck and
Sherry
Quinley.
Pastor Chuck was sent by the Church of God World Missions (Cleveland, Tennessee) to serve as
the
Director of Graduate
Studies at the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries (Makati, Philippines).
It began as a neighborhood volleyball game among friends inside Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa. Soon the
group
became a Bible study and then a church. From one small church, it began to expand as more souls were
saved and lives
were changed. Soon the members reached into the community through various programs such as
medical missions, kids
outreach, feeding, prison outreach, and
ministry to abused women and children. In
addition, the leaders and members reached into the
marketplace and
government offices. We have also partnered
with international organizations such as EQUIP of John Maxwell and the
HAGGAI Leadership Institute as well as
other churches and
denominations in the Philippines and abroad.
From one church in Alabang, it grew into a network of churches throughout the Philippines, and has sent and
continues
to support missions work overseas. Today, Lighthouse is led by our Senior Pastor, Albert Clavo. He
leads a network of
pastors and churches that seek to establish a ‘healthy, life-giving and dynamic Lighthouse
church in every region of the
Philippines.’
Recently, the Lord asked Pastor Albert what he wants to see. In prayerful response he said, ‘I want to see people
from
all walks of life and every season of life become fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ.’ With the help of
the Holy Spirit
and the passionate service of God’s people, this is already becoming a reality!
