Freedom In The Holy Spirit!

'Where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is freedom.' 2 Corinthians 3.17

In our nation's calendar, today is INDEPENDENCE DAY, when we celebrate Freedom! In the Christian calendar, today is PENTECOST SUNDAY, when we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the early church.

In the Bible, freedom and the Holy Spirit come together.

When sin and death occupy our minds, the Holy Spirit sets us free with His life and peace (Romans 8.6).

When in doubt about our salvation and relationship to God, the Holy Spirit sets us free by confirming our sonship (Romans 8.16).

When we feel weak in our prayer life, the Holy Spirit sets us free through intercession (Romans 8.26).

When we are weighed down with uncertainty about God's will, the Holy Spirit sets us free by revealing to us God's plans (1 Corinthians 2.9-10).

Thank God for freedom! But thank God even more for the freedom we enjoy in the power of the Holy Spirit!
