God Provides

'...AND THE LORD PROVIDED...' That phrase appears repeatedly in different ways throughout Scripture.

When God told Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, THE LORD PROVIDED a ram instead (Genesis 22.8 and 13). When Elijah got tired from his journey, THE LORD PROVIDED ravens to bring him food (1 Kings 17.6).

When a widow approached Elisha with her desperate need, THE LORD PROVIDED a continuing supply of oil that paid off their debt and put food on the table of the widow and her son (2 Kings 4.7). When Jonah was in the water after being thrown overboard, THE LORD PROVIDED a great fish to swallow him (Jonah 1.17).

When multitudes listened to Jesus and forgot to bring food, THE LORD PROVIDED bread and fish to feed them, with plenty left-over (John 6).

No wonder the Apostle Paul said, 'AND MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS.' (Philippians 4.19).
