He Will Carry You

‘Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
all you who remain of the house of Israel,
you whom I have upheld since you were conceived,
and have carried since your birth.
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I Am He, I Am He who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you. (Isaiah 46.3, 4 NIV84)

In its immediate context, this verse refers to Israel whom the LORD conceived, created, sustained, carried and rescued. But in its expanded context, it can apply to everyone who now belongs to the LORD through faith in Christ. He conceived us in His eternal mind long before we were born. He created us in His own image and likeness. He sustained us through every season of our life. He carried us when we were too weak to go on. He rescued us from many harms and dangers.

And this promise will be true till we are old and gray. He will never ever abandon us midway.

Thank you Lord for Your love and grace. You will indeed carry us through every season of our life, all the way to the very end, when we see You face to face.
