Prove It
In the Tom Cruise movie Jerry McGuire, there is one famous scene where he keeps shouting the phrase, 'Show me the money!' It means, 'Prove it!' You claim this to be true. Now prove it.
In our world, many people claim to be Christian, saying, sometimes shouting, they are followers of Christ and his teachings. That's what being a Christian really means. But many times, those claims are proven to be hollow words. And in order to cover up for the lack of substance, many Christians and Christian groups over the years would point to their religious practices as proof of their adherence to Christ.
The Bible however never points to religious practices as proof of one's faith. Instead, it points consistently to our life. 'Faith without works is dead!' James rightly proclaims. And in this declaration, he is backed up by the Apostle Paul, the Old Testament prophets, and none other than Jesus Christ himself.
You claim you are a Christian? 'Show me the money!' Or to put it another way, PROVE IT!
We Love You!
